Let me explain internet situtation in Kosova.
There are several internet providers here. Normally they differ from each other by the number of clients they have, type of clients, infrastructure.
Kujtesa - has the biggest pipe to internet. Momentaly they have 2 x 34 to CG Internet
Kujtesa infrastructure covers a big part of Kosova territory and uses different technology to connect end users. Their users containts a base from SOHO, to BIG ISP on region (in Kosova, Macedonia, Albania). They have cover also on Macedonia and Albania. I can add that Kujtesa is the only company that has maked their infrastructure by its own forces without help of 'DONATIONS'. Reading your post Kronos, I have very confidential information that the provider who will be connected to TS will be Kujtesa. Due that I consider that this can be confidential for Kujtesa also I can not add other informations that I have.
Wireless Technology used: 2.4, 5, 3.5Ghz
IPKO - has also good position on Kosova market. Their pipe to internet is 1 x 34 to CG Internet which they share together with AlbaniaOnline SP in Albania. IPKO as I am seeing that you have informations about their creation by donations, before 2 or 3 years got a 2 milion credit from Procredit Bank (ex MEB). Due to their small PIPE they has clients which their bandwidth can be overbooked such as InternetCaffes, Institutions 9-5. They has the biggest number of VPN clients including insurance companies, and some banks which are connected to BPK ( Banka Popullore e Kosoves ).
Wireless Technology used: 2.4, 3.5Ghz
PTK DARDANET - has smaller pipe but is very serious and has good reputation on the market. They have link to Telekom Italia Seabone, Telekom Austria, and it was a link to Telekom Macedonia MTNET but their price was very high so they disconnected thei link. They are now getting their DS3 connection to Telekom Italia Sparkle or Telekom Austria. Dardanet serves a good number of mini ISP to other cities and from it beggining before 3 years was in a hold position due to some byrocratical people there. But now is on the move and I personaly think that in the near future will hold a good position in the market due to their capability to use Wires. For local loop they use g.SHDSL which they buy from our company.
Wireless Technology used: no they use gSHDSL
ARTMOTION n.p.sh. - which i represent has 3 internetational link one through CG Internet (Kujtesa), One through Dardanet, and one for VOIP traffic through Dardanet to Telekom Austria. We serve mostly business users and we are focused on Internet Caffes ( which are in a big number here ), Institutions and companies. We do have a Pipe of 8 megs and our difference from local providers is that we have link to some other cities inluding Mitrovica, Ferizaj, Obilic, Fushe Kosove.
From our beggining last year with ISP services we hold a very good position on the market here. Before ARTMOTION n.p.sh. was a creation a development agency of web projects which includes PTK Dardanet, Vala900, Procredit Bank Kosovo and the biggest companies here. We are the first ISP who is in the testing phase of VOIP services and we are the first who will launch VOIP services for our clients.
Wireless Technology used: 5 Ghz and 3.8 Ghz installing
Other providers here are usually miniISP who use 2.4 ghz and they serve home users.
